The Hollywood Knights is a 1980 American teen comedy movie written and directed by Floyd Mutrux which depicts the crude and wild antics and practical jokes of the remaining members of a 1950s-era car club turned social fraternity in Beverly Hills and Hollywood in 1965. The cast, led by Robert Wuhl as the fraternity’s charismatic leader, Newbomb Turk also features Tony Danza and Michelle Pfeiffer in their very first starring roles. Fran Drescher is also featured in the film in an early performance.
If you’ve ever seen this film, you know how hilarious it is. While it has a few dramatic moments sprinkled throughout, the film is primarily a comedy in the style of films like Porky’s and American Graffiti. Robert Wuhl absolutely steals the show as Newbomb Turk who creates some really hilarious hijinks all through the film.
This a seriously underrated comedy and it became a cult comedy classic after being shown on HBO late at night in the 80s.
