Jennifer Grey made her film debut in 1984’s Reckless which starred Richard Gere. 1984 was a busy year for Grey who also starred in Red Dawn and The Cotton Club that same year. In 1985 she made an appearance in the movie American Flyers. In 1986 she gained significant exposure portraying the jealous sister in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Jennifer Grey’s biggest role came as Frances “Baby” Houseman in the romantic drama Dirty Dancing in 1987. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the film. In the early part of the 1990s, Jennifer Grey underwent two rhinoplasty procedures (commonly referred to as a nose job). The second surgery was necessary to correct problems that occurred during the first surgery. The end result was that Grey looked so different that even some of her friends did not recognize her. Ultimately it affected her career so much that she even considered changing her name to start her career over again because she no longer looked like the same actress that people recognized.
Recently Grey has made guest appearances on the TV shows “The Conners” and Grey’s Anatomy. She has also done voice work for several characters on the Disney animated show Phineas & Ferb.
