Frustration Pencils

Frustration Pencils

Frustration pencils, also known as fuzzy head pencil toppers became a fad in the early 80s.  Most were home-made and only required a pencil, some fake fur, and stick-on googly eyes.  The idea behind the pencil was that normally it’s hair would be nice and neat in the shape of a point, but when you were frustrated with things at school, you would hold the middle of the pencil between the palms of your hands and push your palms back and forth, making the hair on the pencil stick out and look wild.
