Humpty Hump, Frontman For The Digital Underground Dead at 57

Shock G, also known as Humpty Hump, whose real name was Gregory Edward Jacobs,  co-founder, and frontman of the group Digital Underground died Thursday night in Tampa at the age of 57.

No cause of death has been reported at this time.  The Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating whether there was foul play.  Digital Underground had hits in the late 80s and early 1990s, including “The Humpty Dance” “Same Song”, “Kiss You Back” and “Doowutchyalike.” Future rap superstar Tupac was a member of Digital Underground during their most active period and later became a solo star in the later 90s.
